Importance of 4-H Record Keeping

Recordkeeping is an ongoing, educational and fundamental part of a member’s 4-H experience! We strive to make this a positive experience for all youth. Please see the below requirements that must be complete at the time your record book is turned in. You can always follow up with club leaders or the extension office for further information. All 4-H youth need to fill out a record book that relates to their project. There are also species-specific advancements. You should strive to complete multiple advancements throughout the year. 4-H Record Books serve a variety of purposes:

• They give members an opportunity to reflect on their yearly work.
• Measure their achievements and growth in their 4-H career.
• Encourages members to set goals.
• Develop plans & to shift gears in the face of challenges.
• They unlock eligibility for 4-H scholarships, travel opportunities, leadership positions, and awards at the county, state, and national levels.

Record Book Check-In Is A Required For Participation in the Baker County Fair.

  • Section 1 & 2 of 4-H Resume completed for previous year and started for current year
  • All other section of 4-H Resume must show progression in activities
  • Section 11 of 4-H Resume completed for previous year
  • Project records for the current year must be up to date
  • Previous 4-H year Story and Project Records, including financial summary must be completed and closed out for the year
  • Follow up with club leaders or the extension office for further information.

    • Binder divider suggested

  • Project records

    • 4-H animal science record (Jr or Int & Sr)

    • Health forms

    • Feed and growth record for 4-H market animals
