Garden to Cafeteria

Garden to Cafeteria procurement programs allow students to grow, harvest and deliver the fresh, unprocessed foods from their school garden to their own school cafeteria. These foods are typically processed in their cafeteria's kitchen. In some cases, Farm to School procurement funds and grants will pay a school for these garden-grown cafeteria foods, just as with other local food purchases. This allows a school to maintain those funds, and provides an opportunity for them to continue funding their school garden.
