Enroll in 4-H

Become a 4-H member!

Are you interested in joining our 4-H Program? We offer many club-based opportunities, after-school clubs, and SPIN (special interest) clubs. We welcome all youth who are between the ages of 5-19 (must not yet be graduated). Ages are calculated as of September 1st of current year.

Contact the 4-H office by calling 541-296-5494 to let us know what you are interested in and we will hook you up with a club! From horses to chickens to cooking, 4-H has something for everyone!

Once you have a club, it's time to enroll!

How to Enroll

Oregon 4-H uses 4-HOnline to ensure everyone has their paperwork in order. To enroll each year, you'll need to sign in to 4-HOnline and confirm your contact information and clubs you'd like to join. (So make sure to keep that password for next year!)

Youth enrollment form: Enroll online: Fill out form online, through 4-H Online

If you are unable to use 4HOnline to enroll due to internet or other accessibility issues, we also have printed forms available below.

You don't have to join a club to get involved!

No matter your budget, schedule, or passion, there is a 4-H program for you. Membership in 4-H is open to all youth without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender expression, disability, sexual orientation, or marital / parental status.

  • Participate at School! 4‑H after-school and in-school programs provide 4‑H activities during and after school hours using hands-on activities and 4‑H curriculum. Both programs are available in grade schools and high schools.
  • Explore the Cloverbuds Program for youth ages 5-8. Learn more about the Cloverbuds program.
  • Participate in an event or short-term club (SPIN club): 4-H offers short-term classes throughout the year where you can learn skills from sewing to leatherworking.

Be a 4-H Volunteer!

If you are already a 4-H Volunteer: to re-enroll online or print re-enrollment forms.

If you are wanting to become a new volunteer: contact our office for a volunteer application!

We welcome adults to become volunteers in our program. Volunteers go through training and screening to become 4-H leaders. There are several types of 4-H leaders:

Club Leaders are mentors who oversee a group of young people learning about one or more topic areas.

Assistant/Project Leaders help with a club, perhaps by leading a particular project area or completing an organizational task.

Resource Leaders are not affiliated with a particular club, but they might provide technical assistance to several clubs or plan countywide activities.

All adult volunteers must go through our screening process and attend trainings. The application includes

  1. Volunteer Screening & Education Process and Application (2-sided)
  2. Background Release form - Please note: Also include a photo copy of your official ID with your release form. The Background Release Form is sent electronically via DocuSign.
  3. We will send a form to your three references. Please provide complete contact information for three people who are not related to you.
  4. Complete Volunteer Enrollment form
  5. Complete Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability form
  6. Complete 4-H Code of Ethics form

All materials and training are provided free of charge to volunteer leaders in recognition of their contributions to the program. You may begin your club meetings as soon as you receive confirmation that your application has been processed and you officially enroll in the county 4-H program.

Contact the Wasco County Extension Office at 541-296-5494 for an application or for questions about becoming a leader.
