Ready To Volunteer?

Are you interested in learning about gardening in Oregon? Are you willing to share your time and knowledge with your community? Become an OSU Master Gardener™ volunteer! The OSU Master Gardener™ Program in Oregon serves Baker and surrounding Counties. Over the years, this local and statewide program has trained hundreds of volunteers and they, in turn, have reached thousands of clients within our communities.

Master Gardeners ™ Help People, the Volunteer Commitment.

The type of service performed by Master Gardeners varies according to community needs and the abilities and interests of each Master Gardener. The Master Gardener Coordinator will help you schedule and decide how to best utilize your volunteer time and efforts. Some Master Gardeners answer telephones, researching for answers related to gardening questions. They may staff information tables or displays at different community events. Master Gardeners may speak to local groups and assist with conducting workshops and trainings. They may help establish community garden projects, work with 4-H youth, or assist their office with social and media releases. There are a multitude of other projects that may be discovered, developed, and counted towards their volunteer hours.

Training

Classes are generally held during the winter months (January through May). See below for previous class information.
