Marion County Master Gardeners provide free research-based gardening advice to home gardeners through our Office Help Desk and Community Plant Clinic programs.
If you have a home gardening question or problem, ask us! We use our experience, training, excellent library and online resources, to help you identify and solve issues with plants, plant diseases, weeds, good and bad insects, soil, lawn care, plant selection and more.
Extension Office Help Desk
Drop off your questions and plant or insect samples at the Marion County Master Gardener Help Desk located in the OSU Extension Office on the first floor of the Farm Services building at 1320 Capitol St. NE. If the help desk is closed, the Extension front desk will take your information to pass on.
Master Gardeners volunteers will research your question and contact you as soon as possible.
We are also available by phone 503-373-3770 and email. Please leave a detailed message with your name, contact info, and your question.
Community Plant Clinics
You can also find us at community events like farmers markets, fairs, garden centers, and other locations. Community Plant Clinics are a great opportunity for you to bring a diseased plant or tree branch for diagnosis or an insect for identification, etc. and determine options available. We’ll do our best to answer your question immediately. However, sometimes we need to take more time to research your issue, or to consult with Brooke Edmunds, our Marion County Horticulturist or other OSU experts. We may also recommend another agency or organization for you to contact. Our goal is for you to have the best answer possible.
