Curry County Seed Library

The Curry County Seed Library, formerly the Chetco Seed Library, renamed itself as it branched out in 2022 to serve the entire county. Curry County Master Gardeners collaborates with community partners, including the Brookings Harbor Community Helpers (food bank) and the individuals who started the seed library. This year the seed library received seed packet donations from Fred Meyer, Territorial, and Baker seeds.

Three community distributions were held in February 2022, with approximately 3,800 seed packets and 100 bare root trees distributed to 220 families. Gardeners are encouraged to plant a row for their local food bank or church pantry. The next community distribution is at the Chetco Community Public Library in Brookings on Saturday March 19 from 11-1.

After April 18, the seed library cabinet will be located at the Chetco Community Public Library in Brookings for individuals to get seeds at their convenience.
