We are pleased to introduce the Oregon Master Beekeeper Program Scholarship Program. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who best demonstrate how participation in this course will help them further their education about honey bees or support their beekeeping goals.

We welcome applications from anyone 18 years of age or older. Although the program is focused on beekeeping in Oregon, people from Idaho and Washington may also apply (these are the states where our program has an active presence). This includes but is not limited to: students, hobbyists, teachers, people interested in pollinators, non-profit organization employees, and more!
Each scholarship recipient will receive tuition-free enrollment in the ‘Getting Started with Bees Certificate Program’, our stand-alone program that satisfies the curiosity of those who want to know more about bee biology and backyard beekeeping through online learning and discussion forums.
Students will also receive a copy of the required textbook. Applications will be accepted during our scholarship application window in September of each year.
The process is straightforward - in addition to answering some basic questions about yourself, you will be asked to provide short answers (250 words or less) to the following questions:

Scholarships are available for students living in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho - states where our program has an official presence.
The number of scholarships we are able to offer will vary each year depending on available funds. Our goal is to award a maximum of 10 per calendar year.
Students who complete the ‘Getting Started with Bees Certificate Program’ by October 15th of each year will receive priority consideration for placement with a mentor in the Apprentice Program, which begins in January of each year. The program fee is $100 and would be the responsibility of the student.
