What is 4-H?

4-H empowers young people with hands-on learning experiences to help them grow and thrive. By creating a safe and welcoming environment, young people develop the skills needed to make a positive impact on the world around them.

With more than 6 million members, 4-H is the largest out-of-school youth program in the United States. Oregon State University 4-H Youth Program has connected thousands of local youth to engaging hands-on learning opportunities and supportive adult partnerships.

Linn County 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-19 (age on September 1 of current 4-H year: Cloverbuds 5-8, Juniors 9-11, Intermediates 12-14, Seniors 15-18) and volunteers that will play a key role in helping our young people.

The 4-H year runs from October 1st to September 31st.

Volunteer Continuing Education

As a volunteer, it is important to keep up-to-date on new information related to your project area. This year we are beginning a program to help you increase your knowledge as a volunteer. Beginning in September 2019, every Linn County Volunteer needs to complete at least one continuing education hour. Continuing education can include using webinars from eXtension or attending a state training such as shooting sports. Please contact Andrea if you have any questions.
