Free Pressure Canning Gauge Testing in Washington County

Pressure Canner Dial Gauge testing is offered Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the OSU Extension, Washington County office. Pressure canners with a dial gauge need to be tested for accuracy every year before you use them. Canning with a gauge that is off can result in the under-processing of home-canned foods, which is unsafe. Testing only takes about 5 minutes per gauge.
