More than 100,000 thousand copies – 80,000 in English and 25,000 in Spanish were produced for distribution through OSU Extension offices and Oregon Department of Human Services field offices across the state.
There are some dwarf and miniature varieties of vegetables, such as Thumbelina carrots or other baby vegetables that work particularly well in small confines.
In areas with short growing seasons like the Klamath Basin, home vegetable gardeners should choose varieties that mature quickly. But even getting those plants to maturity may require some protection from the cold.
