This course provides an overview of fire prevention, wildfire suppression, fireline safety, and fire behavior in dryland crops and rangeland. This course is one option for farmers and ranchers to complete an annual agricultural wildfire refresher in 2021 to meet Oregon OSHA requirements for producers with employees who engage in fire suppression on their property. This course should take about 90 minutes to complete and there is a course certificate available at the end of the course.
The new “Introduction to Resilient Dryland Farming Appropriation (RDFA)” project is a joint effort by researchers within the OSU Columbia Basin Agricultural Research Center (CBARC) and USDA-ARS Columbia Plateau Conservation Research Center.
