Biography

I am an Associate Professor with Oregon State University, 4-H Youth Development Program. My education includes a Master of Science in Extension Education with a focus in Natural Resource Development from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from Cornell University. I have 33 years of combined experience with the Extension Service in Michigan and Oregon, with an expertise in Natural Resource Education, School-based Programs, and Outreach to Underserved Audiences. I have developed and implemented a wide range of experiential, place-based STEM programs for youth, schools, and Latinx audiences.

4-H teens learn how to prepare healthy meals and teach children how to cook

To date, 49 teens have participated in the Teen Chef classes. Sixteen have been chosen to participate in the Teens As Teachers and have taught Kids In The Kitchen lessons to 186 elementary and middle school students.
