Please join the Washington County Master Gardener Association's (WCMGA) "In the Garden Series" for an informative workshop on composting. OSU Extension Master Gardener volunteer Michael Donoghue will lead you through the different composting options, tools, and techniques that can help make composting easier. Composting is a way to recycle yard and food waste, reduce greenhouse gases, and produce a free, high-quality soil amendment.

Even before he became a Master Gardener volunteer in 2018, Michael Donoghue was an avid home gardener and composter. His volunteer work at the WCMGA Learning Garden includes the responsibilities of irrigation and composting. Michael also supports the Metro/WCMGA help desk at the Oregon Zoo and volunteers at the International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park.

* * Workshop qualifies for 1 hour MG continuing garden education credit.
