Is this a hobo spider?

My neighbor has found this spider (see picture) twice in her house recently. Do you know what type of spider it is? Is it a hobo spider, and is it dangerous?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to see too many details in your picture to make a species identification. However, the spider is a funnel weaver (sometimes known as a grass spider) in the family Agelenidae. Male agelenids can often be seen roaming around looking for mates at this time of year.

Agelenid spiders are not dangerous. The hobo spider is in this family (Agelenidae), but the one in your picture is not a hobo. Please know that despite its reputation, the hobo spider is not dangerous. Their venom is no more toxic than that of other spiders and they are no more aggressive or likely to bite people than other spiders.
