Biology and Management of Western Redcedar (in English)

Many people can identify western redcedar from its foliage, yet in spite of this leaf knowledge, even many foresters don’t know a lot about redcedar management. This class will cover the basic biology and ecology of the species and show how this information combined with results from long-term research trials can be used to develop guidelines for management. Redcedar is important in developing complex stand structures and wildlife habitat and can be managed to produce valuable wood and other forest products.
