4-H Studio is a STATE WIDE program designed to help students develop literacy in mass-broadcast media while allowing students will met and network with professional in the fields as well as develop friendships and skills applicable to all future careers and passions. 4-H studio trains young people in digital media and technology, and their stories air on radio shows and podcasts accessible across the country.

OVERVIEW: 4-H Studio is a program designed to help students develop literacy in mass-broadcast media through the hands-on collaborative experience of imagining, writing, producing, editing and broadcasting a radio drama. While learning socially-responsible content creation, students will engage with professionals in the field as well as an actively listening audience in order to produce quality media. This program is designed for students from ages 12-18. Students should have some knowledge/interest in theatrical/film arts.

Youth Engaging in the 4-H Studio program will:

Develop media literacy in mass communication through the hands on experience in creating broadcasted/published content
Understand the policies, etiquette, and challenges of producing broadcasted media
Learn and apply technological skills to produce and publish media

Equipment Needed: Many of these items can be accessed through apps or might be borrowed from your local extension office if they have the supplies
